GHK-CU

GHK‑CU (Glycyl‑L‑Histidyl‑L‑Lysine‑Copper(II)) is a stable metal chelate formed by endogenous glycyl‑L‑histidyl‑L‑lysine tripeptide and Cu²⁺ via 1:1 coordination bonding. As a naturally occurring small‑molecule signaling peptide and repair factor in the human body, it is primarily used for tissue regeneration, skin anti‑aging, wound healing, anti‑inflammation and antioxidant protection. It is one of the most well‑characterized and widely applied peptide active ingredients in cosmetic medicine and skincare.

Product Information

What is GHK‑Cu?

GHK‑Cu (Glycyl‑L‑Histidyl‑L‑Lysine Copper) is a naturally occurring small peptide complex found in the human body. It consists of the GHK tripeptide (made of glycine, histidine, and lysine) stably bound with copper ions (Cu²⁺).

It is also known as copper peptide or copper tripeptide‑1.

First isolated from human plasma in 1973, its concentration naturally decreases with age, which is closely linked to slower tissue repair and aging.

Who is GHK‑Cu suitable for?

  • People showing signs of aging: fine lines, sagging, dullness, and loss of firmness
  • Those with sensitive or damaged skin barriers: redness, irritation, dryness, and fragile skin
  • Acne‑prone skin: red post‑acne marks, mild scarring, and inflamed breakouts
  • Post‑cosmetic treatment skin: after laser, microneedling, or peeling to speed recovery
  • People with hair loss or thinning scalp: weak follicles, receding hairline, and scalp sensitivity
  • All skin types including dry, oily, and combination skin

How does GHK‑Cu work?

  1. Copper delivery & enzyme activation

GHK acts as a safe carrier to transport copper ions into cells, activating key enzymes that support collagen cross‑linking, antioxidant defense, and cellular energy production.

  2. Gene and tissue regulation

At low concentrations, GHK‑Cu regulates hundreds of genes involved in skin health:

  • Increases production of collagen, elastin, and growth factors
  • Reduces inflammation and enzymes that break down skin structure

  1. Skin repair and anti‑aging effects

  • Boosts fibroblast activity to thicken and firm the skin
  • Reduces redness and calms inflammation
  • Accelerates wound healing and reduces scarring
  • Supports scalp circulation and hair follicle health
